Bridge 233 looks to be in good condtion in 2008
Build Information:
Technical Information: counterbalanced lift bridge
Visited by: Tim Lewis; Stewart Marchant, 14/06/2008; 17/07/2010
Present Condition: Good -operational
General notes:
Shown as a swing bridge on the 1900 OS map, records show show that it was a typical Oxford Canal lift bridge.

The area around the bridge and beneath the adjacent modern viaduct is now a development site although it was not clear in July 2010 exactly what was to be built in the area. At the time of my visit the towpath was closed beneath the viaduct and walkers and cyclists were being diverted along a bridleway. I was able to rejoin the towpath at Bridge 234.
